Abstract

Civil rights laws, of course, protect our right to equality under law, but education is what enables each of us to exercise that right. Lyndon Johnson The answer for all our national problems, the answer for the problems of the world comes from the word ‘education’. Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was ardent spokesman of education for all. He believed that compulsory and free education was the responsibility of the state. He had strong reservations about the education system which was implemented by the British government in the subcontinent. However, under the circumstances when the Khilafat movement boycotted the government managed institutions, he advised the Muslim community to join the government educational institutions until any other alternative was available.
